Back to school this week in England

How are you feeling?

Throughout the week, I have watched or heard news bulletins saying that teachers and staff have made changes within classrooms, in corridors and at breaktimes to ensure that the school day will look the same but it will feel different.

It is important the pupils return to school not only for their education but to see their friends and socialise again. This is good for their education and social- wellbeing.

Pupils of Primary School age 4 years old – 10 years old do NOT need to wear masks. However Secondary School age pupils must wear masks in corridors.

There will be clear signs and hand-sanitizing stations for pupils and teachers to wash their hands.

Pupils will spend most of the day in the same classroom bubble including having lunch in their classrooms to minimise contact with other classroom bubbles to minimise risk of infection.

Pupils of Secondary School age 11-18 MUST wear face be worn in corridors.

As with Primary Schools, Secondary schools and nurseries will all have clear signs and hand-sanitizing stations for pupils and teachers to wash their hands.

Pupils will spend most of the day in the same classroom bubble including having lunch in their classrooms to minimise contact with other classroom bubbles to minimise risk of infection.

If your child has symptoms Covid 19, (or anyone in your house) they MUST arrange a test as soon as possible and isolate at home for 10 days from the date of onset of symptoms (or until they receive a negative result)

Everyone else in the household who does not have symptoms must isolate at home for 14 days ( or until the symptomatic household member receive a negative result)

Your child’s nursery, childminder, school or college will be able to give you more information about the changes they have made.
